Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, has released the official notification for the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA). This course is jointly offered by three sought-after educational institutes – IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, and ISI. However, to pursue this course, candidates need to apply and clear the entrance exam scheduled on March 27, 2022. This notification has been released on the official website pdgba.iitkgp.ac.in and contains information about the PGDBA 2022 schedule, eligibility criteria, course information, etc.
As per the PGDBA 2022 notification, the online application process is scheduled to begin shortly. While the exact date is not known, one thing’s for sure – the last date to sill and submit the application form is February 18, 2022. With this deadline in mind, there is a high possibility of the application process commencing within this week or the following one.
The selection process for PGDBA 2022 admission comprises of two stages – 1. The computer-based test and 2. Personal interview (for shortlisted candidates). The first stage is scheduled o be conducted on March 27, 2022. Results will most likely be announced in April 2022 following which, interviews will be organized for shortlisted candidates in May 2022. An exact date for the interview session will be announced later.
PGDBA Exam Pattern
Although the selection process comprises two stages, the final shortlisting will be done on the basis of several criteria. These include – 1. PGDBA-2022 entrance exam score (45 marks), 2. Personal interview (PI) (40 marks), 3. Points for Class XII marks (08 marks) and 4. Work experience (07 marks). Candidates will be scored on the scale of 1-100 and those who score more than the cut-off will be granted admission to this postgraduate course.
Of course, certain reservation criteria will also be applicable for certain categories such as SC, ST, NC-OBC as well as persons with disabilities. These criteria will be in tandem with the norms issued by the Indian government. In the case of NC-OBC and EWS, a certificate issued on or after April 01, 2021, shall be uploaded during the application process to claim reservation.
An important statement mentioned on the official website reads, ” Dates of the test and interview are subject to change depending upon the prevailing COVID condition”. Right now, the hope is that the situation in the country stabilizes by February 2022 post which, there would not be any need to postpone the exam. However, little can be predicted under the prevailing circumstances. So, to be abreast with any changes in the PGDBA 2022 schedule, candidates are advised to visit the official portal frequently.
