Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) is accepting online applications for recruitment to 48 vacancies of Industries Promotion Officer. The vacancies under the Director of Industries are advertised through No. IIE-05/2019/4631/OSSC available at the official website of OSSC i.e. ossc.gov.in. Engineering graduates and Diploma holders are eligible applicants for the aforementioned posts. The Commission has initiated the online application process today i.e. July 16, 2020. The last date of receipt of online application forms is August 16, 2020 till 11.55 PM. Candidates are advised to read the detailed recruitment advertisement carefully before applying for the recruitment.
The vacancies are bifurcated across candidates of different categories. Among the 48 vacancies advertised, 05 vacancies are for SC candidates, 02 for ST candidates, 02 for SEBC candidates and 39 for Unreserved candidates. The selection of eligible applicants is to be done through a written exam first and subsequently through certificate verification and viva voce rounds. Finally, selected candidates are appointed to the aforementioned posts on a contractual basis for an initial period of 1 year. During this period, appointed candidates are entitled to receive Rs 16880 monthly consolidated pay.
The Commission has specified the minimum eligibility conditions to apply for the recruitment. Candidates must be at least 18 years old as on 01.01.2019. The maximum age of the candidates must not be more than 32 years. In addition, candidates must have studied Odia as a language in HSC. Regarding the minimum educational qualifications, candidates must have a Degree or Diploma in Engineering awarded and recognized by the polytechnic and engineering colleges in the state.
The main written exam consists of two papers consisting of only objective type questions. Paper-I contains 100 questions from the subjects of General Studies, Odia language & General English, There is a provision of negative marking at the rate of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Each question carries 1 mark. On the other hand, Paper-II is a technical paper consisting of 100 questions of 2 marks each. There is a provision of deducting 0.5 marks for each wrongly answered question. Once the main exam is conducted, the results are released on the official website. Only those who qualify through the written exam are considered for the subsequent Certificate Verification and viva vice stages.
Candidates can apply for the aforementioned OSSC recruitment event through the official website only. An application fee of Rs 200 must be paid in order to apply. SC/ST and PWD candidates are, however, exempted from the payment of the application fee. Candidates are requested to be extra vigilant while filling up the application form because there are no provisions for subsequent application form correction. All candidates are required to register first at the website to generate the login credentials. Thereafter, candidates can log in to fill up and submit the application form. Once the application is submitted, it is advised to generate and preserve a copy of the application form for future reference.
