Odisha Public Service Commission is inviting applications to fill up vacancies for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) in Group A. OPSC has published an official recruitment notice in this regard at the website opsc.gov.in. As per the notice, 210 vacancies are available to be filled up. Candidates fulfiling the minimum eligibility conditions can apply for the recruitment by registering at the website and submitting the online application form. Online registration and application process is commencing on August 26, 2020. The last date of submission of the online application is September 25, 2020.
The vacancies for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) are available in Group A of Odisha Panchayati Raj Engineering Service under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department. Apart from the 105 unreserved vacancies, 24 vacancies are reserved for SEBC candidates, 34 for SC candidates and 47 for ST candidates. The selection of the eligible applicants is to be done through written exam and interview. Selected candidates who are appointed are entitled to receive payment in the Level 12 of the pay matrix provided under Rule 3 of ORSO Rules, in the Pay Band 3 at the pay scale of Rs 15600 – Rs 39100. In addition, grade pay of Rs 5400 is also applicable along with dearness and other admissible allowances.
Candidates must fulfil the eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. In addition to eligibility criteria related to age and education, candidates must also meet the minimum physical requirements as specified in the official recruitment notification. A degree in Civil Engineering or Associated Member of the Institution of Engineers in India (AMIE) qualification is required to apply for the recruitment. Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years as on January 01, 2020. However, the maximum permissible age is 35 years. Candidates belonging to special reserved categories are however eligible for relaxations up on the upper age limit. Candidates must be proficient in the Odia language.
The selection of eligible applicants is to be done on the basis of a written test and final viva voce test (Interview). The written exam is further divided into two stages namely the Preliminary and Main exam. There is one paper of 100 marks carrying 100 MCQ type questions in Prelims. 0.25 negative marking is applicable in the Prelims. On the other hand, the Main exam consist of two papers of 150 questions each with a duration or 2.5 hours for each paper. Each paper carries 300 marks and contains MCQ type questions with negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer. The interview stage carries 75 marks.
The exam is scheduled to be held at Cuttack. Other possible centres are also specified in the official notification. An exam fee of Rs 500 is required to be deposited in order to apply. The fee can be deposited by online payment during the process of online application. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for the recruitment at the website before the last date.
