Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited has released an official notification for the recruitment of General Duty Medical Officer and Medical Officer. ONGC will be conducting an interview round to appoint eligible candidates for 07 vacant posts. Eligible and intending candidates are encouraged to submit their applications on or before the last date i.e November 05, 2020. Out of the total advertised vacancies, ONGC has announced 06 vacancies for General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) and 01 vacancies for Medical Officer. Candidates will be recruited as Medical Officers on contract basis at the Mehsana Asset, District Mehsana Gujarat till June 30, 2022. The newly appointed medical staff gets monthly consolidated emolument of Rs. 72,000/-.
Applicants who possess Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery are eligible to submit their applications for General Duty Medical Officer and Medical Officer. They must have a valid registration certificate with concerned statutory authority. Experience is desirable in both the posts. However, there is no maximum age limit for the eligibility for ONGC recruitment.
Before applying online, aspirants are suggested to keep scanned copies of the neatly typed/ handwritten application in the given format. Along with the form, they also have to submit scanned copies of the following documents – passport size photograph, 10th class mark sheet, educational qualification certificates and mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), a certificate in occupational health, experience certificate, medical council registration certificate. Aspirants who are found eligible as per the application form are called for the interview. The educational qualification of the candidate carries 70% weightage out of which 60 marks for the essential qualification and 10 additional marks for a relevant higher qualification. Interview round takes place for 30 marks. Aspirants have to obtain at least 18 marks (12 marks for SC/ ST category) in the interview to qualify this stage.
As of now, ONGC has not yet disclosed the exact date and timings for interview. However, the interview may take place through an online mode. Candidates have to appear for the interview through Google Meet/ Zoom/ Whatsapp Webex, etc. All the communications regarding interview/ recruitment will be intimate through SMS/ email.
The final selection of candidates depends on the marks obtained in both qualification and interview. Based on the aggregate marks, a merit list is prepared and published on the ONGC website. Candidates who secure a relatively higher rank in the merit list in comparison to other competitors, get the offer of engagement from ONGC.
