National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has advertised a temporary vacancy for the post of Junior Research Fellow in 2020. Selected candidates have the scope to enroll as a PhD Scholar subject to fulfilment of the Institute’s eligibility conditions. There is a single and temporary post available for Junior Research Fellow in a research project entitled Development of Low Cost All-in-One Millet Processing Machine. The project is being sponsored by an agency called DST. Candidates will be required to carry out experimental research work related to the project. The tenure of the project is for a period of 2 years. During this time, candidates will be paid a consolidated monthly fellowship of Rs 31000.
Intending candidates fulfilling the specified minimum eligibility conditions are invited to apply for the recruitment. Applicants must have a M.Tech degree in Food Engineering/Post Harvest Engineering/Food Technology with minimum CGPA of out of 10.0 (equivalent to 60% marks in aggregate). Candidates with successful GATE score will be preferred. In addition, it is also preferred that candidates have prior research experience or knowledge in the disciplines of Machine Design, autoCAD, CATIA, SOLIDWORK. Candidates with hands-on experience on handling SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR etc. would also be preferred.
It is mandatory for candidates to stay in the Institute’s campus during the period of engagement. Bachelor accommodation will be provided to unmarried candidates in Hostel while married candidates may be provided Campus accommodation subject to availability. Candidates will have the opportunity for subsequent enrollment as a PhD scholar in Department of Food Process Engineering subject to fulfilment of institute’s own eligibility criteria.
Selection of candidates will be done through online interview. The date and time of the interview will be notified later. However, NIT Rourkela has indicated that the interview will be conducted from Department of Food Process Engineering, NIT, Rourkela.
