National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has made slight changes to the initial 10th and 12th date sheet for October-November 2019 exams. The open school board with over 15 lakh enrolled students, has revised the exam dates in view of elections.
However the change is only for one exam date, and two exams. The papers to be held on October 21, 2019, will now be held on November 4, 2019. This has affected the paper Economics (subject code 318) for senior secondary, and the subject Science and Technology (subject code 212) for secondary. Senior secondary refers to class 12th and secondary to class 10th.
On both the exam dates, the test timings will be 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. This new added exam date will also be the last exam date for NIOS Oct-Nov 2019 exams. The remaining exams will be conducted as per the initial date sheet only.
It may be noted that this is the second time that the dates have been changed. Before this, NIOS had changed the exam date for the same two subjects to November 2, 2019. The date November 4, 2019 is the re-revised date.
NIOS class 10th exam of second session has started from October 4. The first examination was of Employability Skills (250). While the class 12th exam started on October 3 with the Sanskrit subject (309). NIOS conducts the examinations twice a year. One in the month of April and the other in the month of October. Examinations of the second session are currently ongoing.
Secondary and Senior Secondary exams conducted for the All India category students as well as for the Overseas category students. The examinations of both categories started on the same date.
NIOS conducted the class 10th exams of the first session from April 03 and the class 12th exams from April 02. The result of the April session released on June 07, 2019. All those students were not qualified in the first attempt or not apply for the first session appear for the exams October 2019.
NIOS will announce the result of the October session by the month of December. Last year NIOS annouced the result for October exams for class 10th and 12th on December 15. Along with this, NIOS also provides the chance to re-evaluate or re-check their answer sheets once the result declared.
