National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test- Super Specialty (NEET SS), 2021 exam was conducted today, January 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. According to the official notification by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the result will be declared by January 31, 2022.
The exact result date can be speculated to release around January 24 or later based on previous years’ data. NEET SS, 2020 was conducted on September 15, 2020, and the results were published on September 25, 2020. NEET SS, 2019 was conducted on June 29, 2019, and the result for the same was declared on July 15, 2019. Given this history, NEET SS, 2021 results can be expected to be published well within the next 2 weeks. The scorecard can be downloaded from the official website nbe.edu.in.
The NEET SS, 2021 exam consists of 2 parts- Part A and Part B, with a total of 100 questions. Part A is given 40% weightage and covers questions from the eligible feeder broad specialty courses. Part B has 60% weightage and consists of questions from the particular super specialty course. Candidates are awarded 4 marks for a correct answer and there is a negative mark of 1, for wrong answers.
NEET SS Tie-Breaking Criteria
In the case of candidates obtaining the same score in a particular super-specialty group, the candidates fulfilling the following criteria will be placed in a higher merit position:
- Candidates with lesser negative responses in the exam.
- Candidates with a higher score in Part B.
- Candidates with lesser negative responses in Part B.
- Candidates who are older in age.
- Candidates securing higher aggregate marks in all MBBS Professional Examinations.
The tie-breaking criteria will be followed in the order mentioned above.
Candidates securing 50 percentile or more will be considered qualified. There will be no reservations in NEET SS. After the publication of the results, common national counseling will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services. Following this, the academic session will commence on February 15, 2022.
NEET SS is conducted for admission to DM, MCh, and DrNB super- specialty courses. Candidates who have a Post Graduate Degree in MD/ MS/ DNB or an equivalent qualification are eligible to attempt the exam. A candidate can apply for any 2 super specialty courses, based on their qualifications.
