Only yesterday, March 31, 2022, an NTA official confirmed the date for conducting the NEET 2022 examination. Accordingly, the National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) 2022 is all set to be held on July 17, in a single-day format. The application form is likely to release on the official website neet.nta.nic.in, tomorrow, April 02. However, experts predict that the information brochure, carrying crucial information about NEET 2022 is likely to release today, April 01, 2022, or tomorrow. Interestingly, NTA is yet to issue a notification informing candidates about the decided date.
NEET 2022 Information Brochure to Release Soon
Usually, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issues a notification announcing the NEET exam date, days before the application process. In this notice, it mentions the exam date as well as applications dates. However, this year, the scenario has changed as there is no sign of any such notice.
Additionally, the NEET information brochure releases on the same date as the application form, if not early. So, going by this logic, all three NEET 2022 exam documents (notification, brochure and application form) are expected to release tomorrow. They shall be issued through the online mode, on the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
NEET 2022 Exam Date & Format
As per the NTA official, the NEET 2022 examination is all set to be conducted in the third week of July 2022. This is slightly contrary to earlier predictions of the exam being held in the fourth week of June or first week of July 2022. Nevertheless, the exam will be held through the offline mode, in an OMR-based pen-and-paper format. Candidates will be expected to attempt and mark the right responses in the OMR sheet, within the span of 3 hours.
NEET 2022 Registration Likely till May 07
Although not officially announced, the NEET 2022 application process is likely end by May 07, 2022, as quoted by the Times of India and other news portals. Thereafter, a correction facility shall be provided to make changes in the already-submitted application form. This facility is expected to remain active from May 15 to 20, 2022. This schedule is only tentative and may be confirmed, once the information brochure is released.
Upper Age limit Scrapped this year
Interestingly, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided on scrapping the upper age limit for NEET 2022. However, the lower age limit remains as an important eligibility criterion. So, all those who have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2022, shall be able to apply. Earlier, the upper age limit for UR category was 25 years, and 30 years for reserved categories.
