The much-awaited NEET 2022 application form has been released today, April 06, 2022, by the National testing Agency (NTA). The online application process has started on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. The agency has also uploaded a public notice announcing the registration schedule along with the NEET 2022 information brochure. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 examination is all set to be conducted on July 17, 2022, through the pen-and-paper mode. Interested candidates can submit their online form on or before May 06, 2022, 11:50 pm.
This year, the NEET registration scenario is different as candidates have received merely a month’s time to register for the exam. This is contrary to the previous sessions wherein aspirants would receive 3-4 months to fill and submit their forms.
NEET 2022 Registration – Important Dates
As per the official notice, the NEET 2022 registration process is planned from April 06 to May 06, 2022, up to 11:50 pm. Thereafter, the last date for successful transaction of fee is May 07, 2022, up to 11:50 pm.

Interestingly, the official schedule does not specify the dates for correction facility, announcement of exam city or admit card release. Against these events, the notice states, “To be intimated later on the website”. This is an indirect instruction for candidates to visit the official portal neet.nta.nic.in frequently for important updates.
Another interesting thing to note is that the NEET UG 2022 examination will be held for 3 hours and 20 minutes. This is contrary to the previous duration of 3 hours. So, effectively, the entrance test will be organised from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm, in the pen-and-paper format, on a national-level.
NEET 2022 Registration – Application Fee Details
According to the official notice, General category candidates need to pay Rs.1600 as NEET 2022 application fee. Similarly, the General-EWS, OBC-NCL categories needs to be Rs.1500. Finally, SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender categories are required to pay Rs.900 as application fee.
Candidates living outside India are supposed to pay Rs.8500 irrespective of their category. It is also important to note that the application fee does not include transaction charges. So, these have to be paid by each aspirant in addition to the fee amount, based on their bank.

This year, the NEET 2022 examination is scheduled across 543 cities in India (approximately) as well as 14 cities outside India. So, in addition to India, the medical entrance test will be held in countries like Singapore, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, etc.
