NEET 2020 Result Live Updates – Date (16 Oct), Check NTA NEET Result at ntaneet.nic.in

Now that it has been confirmed that NEET 2020 Phase 2 will be held on October 14, 2020. The news papers are reporting that result for NEET 2020 will be out on October 16, 2020. 

As per latest news paper reports, Supreme Court has allowed NEET Phase 2 to be held on October 14, 2020. it will only be held for those candidates who were not able to appear for the exam on September 13, 2020, due to #COVID-19 infection.

Since AIIMS and JIPMER are not conducting its own entrance exam, the counselling to fill seats in these colleges will be conducted by MCC. The Medical Counselling Committee will release details and dates soon.

The data of BDS seats in India is as give below.

• Private Colleges including Deemed Universities - 23,260

As per the news reports, the result of NEET 2020 will release between 1 to 2 PM.

During the counselling of NEET 2020, following documents are needed

Step 2: Processing of seat allotment
Step 3: Announcement of seat allotment
Step 4: Report at college and document verification

The counselling of MCC is held in 2 round plus one mop-up round.

On the basis of NEET 2020 result, following seats are filled in following colleges:

• All India Quota Seats
• Central Institutions / Universities / Deemed Universities
• State Government Quota Seats
• Central Pool Quota Seats
• State / Management / NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Ayurveda / Dental / Siddha / Homeopathy / Unani Colleges or any Private University
• All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non- minority medical colleges

The 15% all India Quota seats are 15% seats out of all the medical seats in India. These 15% seats include colleges in all the states. Due to the quota seats, a candidate gets opportunity to get admission in any colleges, of any state. These seats are only filled on the basis of NEET rank.

After the result of NEET is released, the schedule for MCC and state counselling is released. DGA NTA gives NEET merit list to MCC and state counselling committees. On the basis of the merit, candidates are called for seat allotment.

MCC only conducts counselling to fill 15% all India Quota Seats. The counselling is held online and candidates first need to register for it. The registration for MCC counselling can only be done online, at mcc.nic.in. After registration, candidates submit choices for the course and the colleges. On the basis of submitted choices and the rank in NEET, seat is allocated.

The detailed process for state counselling is released individually by all the states.

The actual cut off for NEET 2020 will only be announced by NTA. However, on the basis of the exam, level, of difficulty, number of candidates applied, etc. experts have provided expected cut off for NEET 2020. It is as follows:

It is very common that percentile score or two or more candidates might be the same. Hence, in this case, NTA uses NEET tie breaking method to allocate the rank.

As per it, if there is a tie, then NTA check the marks of both the candidates in biology. The candidate having the higher marks, gets the higher rank.

However, if biology score are not enough to break the tie, then NTA checks marks in chemistry. Candidate with higher marks in chemistry, gets better rank.

If the tie still prevails, then candidates with less number of incorrect answers gets the better rank.

Lastly, if none of the above works, then NTA allocates higher rank to the elder candidate.

There are 2 types of rank in NEET. One is the NEET all India Rank (AIR) and second is the NEET category rank. The AIR of NEET is the position of the candidate, in the exam, among all the candidates who appeared for the exam. Whereas, the category rank is the position of a candidates among the candidates of that particular category.

NEET rank are determined on the basis of percentile score. The higher the percentile score, the better is the allocated rank.

The percentile score of NEET 2020 is determined on the basis of cut off. It denotes the number of candidates who have scored more or less that you. The common formula to calculate normalized score is as follows:

100 x Number of candidates appeared with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate

The score out of 720 is calculated on the basis of marking scheme. As per the final answer key, the answers marked by the candidates are checked.

• For each correct answer, candidate gets 4 marks
• For each incorrect answer, 1 marks is deducted
• If, for any question, more than one circle is darkened then also 1 marks is deducted

When marks are added and deducted for all the questions, the raw score of the candidates out of 720 is determined.

It is generally regarding that via NEET admission is granted in MBBS and BDS courses. However, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is much vast. Through NEET admission is granted in:

- MBBS
- BDS
- BAMS
- BSMS
- BUMS
- BHMS

Other than this, the state of Maharashtra also fills Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B. PTh)., Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B. OTh), Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology (BASLP), Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BP & O), and B.Sc. Nursing seats on the basis of NEET.

Though the cut off of NEET is announced as percentile but there is always a minimum score corresponding to it. The last years minimum score as per the cut off NEET 2020 are as follows:

NTA has announced NEET cut off in percentile. It is available category wise and is as follows:

NEET 2020 OBC cut off - 45th percentile
NEET 2020 SC cut of - 40th percentile

NEET 2020 topper will be out with the result. However, as per Allen Kota, Soyeb Aftab is getting 720 out of 720 marks in NEET 2020. The marks have been determined on the basis of answer key and OMR of Soyeb.

Candidates can only check NEET 2020 result from the official website, which is ntaneet.nic.in. To check the result, candidates have to visit the website and look for "NEET Result" link. On clicking the link, a new login appears on the screen. Candidates need to enter roll number and date of birth in the provided space. Following this,the dashboard opens and from there, candidates can download their scorecard.

NTA never informs time for the release of result. However, last time NEET result was announced around 1.00 PM. But this year, NTA announced result for JEE Main at nigh, around 11.00 pm. The most expected time for the release of NEET 2020 result are:

Between 12 to 1 PM
Between 6 to 8 PM
Between 10.30 to 11.00 PM

National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced any date for NEET 2020 result. However, as per news reports, a higher source of NTA informed that the result will be out today on October 12, 2020. Hence, it is expected that candidates will be able to check their score and rank today.

Students who were affected due to COVID-19 were not able to appear for NEET 2020 on September 13, 2020. As per the latest tweet by Dr. Amit Gupta NTA will soon conduct NEET Phase 2. However, NTA has not made any such statement.
