This year, the Class 10 board exams were cancelled in the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were scheduled to begin on April 10, 2021, but were indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic. Later on, the state government decided to cancel the theory and practical exams as the situation continued to worsen in the state. Class 10 students would then, be assessed based on alternate criteria.
In the absence of full-fledged final exams, students have been assessed on the basis of their performance in school projects and various internal assessments. These were conducted by the respective schools during the academic year 2020-21. SK Chaurasiya, MPBSE’s Public Relations Officer stated that all students who had registered for Class 10 exams this year shall be promoted to Class 11. No student will be deliberately failed by the board authorities.
