Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) conducted Combined Admission Test for class 11th (Science)/ Diploma in Engineering and class 11th (Commerce and Arts/ Humanities). The exam was taken by more than 50 thousand students. AMU entrance exam was conducted in a peaceful manner at 43 centers.
Approximately 40,348 candidates applied for class 11th Science stream and the diploma course, while 9,672 candidates had applied for Commerce and Arts/ Humanities stream. The exam was also conducted by AMU in city centers of Srinagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Patna, Kolkata, and Bareily.
A number of entrance exam centers were visited by AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor in the University Campus and some local schools. Mr. Mujjib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of Examination accompanied the Vice Chancellor at these visits along with University Proctor, Prog M Mohsin Khan. Mr. Khan praised the role of faculty members and the functioning body for conducting the exam in an ordered and peaceful manner.
Senior faculty members were deputed as observers while others were appointed as overall-in charge at the centers which are located outside the Aligarh. AMU has taken these steps for a smooth conduction of admission exam. The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University had organized special help centers at Railway Station and at other important places. The aims of the special help centers were to provide guidance and direction to the candidates. Also, various NGOs had put up special camps. They provided with drinking water to the non-teaching body, university students and parents/ guardians of the candidates along with other necessary facilities.
A special thanks to the District Administration for providing all necessary assistance to conduct the exam smoothly. According to reports parents of candidates also appreciated the efforts by the University authority for proving all type of help for smooth conduction of exam.
Originally established as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875, Aligarh Muslim University is a central University. The University offers more than 300 courses in traditional and modern branches of education. The main campus is located in Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), while three off-campus is situated in Malappuram (Kerala), Murshidabad (West Bengal) and Kishanganj (Bihar). The University is an Institute of National Importance under the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution since its commencement.
