Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is expected to announce the official exam date soon for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHTCET) 2021. It was already evident that the MHTCET 2021 date would be announced any time after the HSC results are out. The exam date and date for admit card release is likely to be published at mhtcet2021.mahacet.org or mahacet.org. Therefore, students appearing for the entrance exam must check this website consistently for important updates. As of now, authorities have already closed the MHTCET 2021 registration portal. Candidates who have successfully registered are ardently waiting for the exam date to come out.
As per reports, the MHTCET 2021 exam is likely to be held in August 2021 itself. The same was reiterated previously by Uday Samant, the Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister. However, the minister had quoted the exam to be held in the first week of August 2021. While this is not possible, students can expect the exam to be held in the first week of August 2021. Usually, a 15-day reaction period is given to students while announcing the dates for any competitive exams. The same rule is expected to follow in the case of MHTCET 2021.
As of now, authorities have closed the registration portal and are not accepting any more applications. The last date to submit the application form without any late fee was extended to July 15, 2021. Successfully registered students can log in to the official portal mahacet.org and take a printout of their confirmation page (if not yet done).
Students must note that MHTCET 2021 is going to be a centre-based online entrance exam for a duration of 270 minutes. The exam will be divided into three papers – I, II and III (each for 90 minutes). Paper I will cover Mathematics and shall comprise of 50 questions for a maximum of 100 marks. Paper II shall cover Physics and Chemistry, again with 50 questions for a total of 100 marks. Lastly, Paper III will have 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. The weightage given to Class 11 and 12 shall be in the 1:4 ratio.
The above-mentioned paper pattern is for students who are applying for B.Tech, B.E or B.Pharm courses. They are instructed to attempt subjects relevant to their fields. While the PCM difficulty level will be at par with JEE Main 2021, the Biology portion will be of NEET level.
Students applying for undergraduate courses in Agriculture have a slightly different paper pattern. The duration and subjects remain the same. However, the Biology section shall be specifically divided into Botany and Zoology. Each of these sections shall contain 50 questions – 10 from Class 11 and 40 from Class 12.
State Common Entrance Test Cell conducts the MHTCET examination every year for students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in various fields within Maharashtra. These include Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Health, etc. However, for medical courses like MBBS and BDS, admissions will be granted based on NEET 2021 scores.
