Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell issued a notice announcing the change in the MBA Common Entrance Test (CET) 2021 exam pattern. According to the notice, the exam duration has been reduced to 120 minutes this year as opposed to 150 minutes last year. However, the number of questions and the syllabus remains the same. Authorities are going to conduct the MBA CET 2021 examination for candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate courses pertaining to management in the state of Maharashtra.
MBA/MMS CET 2021 examination shall be conducted through an online or computer-based format. According to the notice, the test shall comprise of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with each question having five options. The questions will be displayed only in the English language. While most things in MBA CET 2021 exam pattern are similar to last year’s pattern, authorities have reduced the exam duration. Last year, the exam duration was 2 hours 30 minutes. However, MBA CET 2021 shall be of 2 hours i.e., 120 minutes only.
The question paper shall comprise of four sections namely logical reasoning, abstract reasoning, quantitative aptitude and verbal ability/reading comprehension. The logical reasoning section shall contain 75 questions of 1 mark each. Abstract reasoning shall comprise of 25 questions of total 25 marks.
Quantitative aptitude and verbal ability/reading comprehension shall contain 50 questions each with each question being allotted 1 mark. In total, the question paper shall contain 200 questions of total 200 marks. There shall be no negative marking for the wrong answer in the examination.
Authorities have also specified the type of questions asked in each section of the entrance test. Logical reasoning and abstract reasoning shall both contain questions testing the candidate’s accuracy and speed. The questions may also be based on figures, diagrams and verbal reasoning.
Quantitative aptitude shall again include questions testing the candidate’s speed and accuracy but, in terms of numerical calculations. Arithmetic problems based on ratio, proportion, percentage, etc may also be as in the entrance test. This section may also test the student’s quantitative aptitude, graphs, charts and interpretation of tables.
Verbal ability and reading comprehension section shall include grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, passage-based questions, etc. The candidate’s intellect may be tested in terms of understanding of passage, use of appropriate words and phrases, language skills, etc.
MH CET is a state-level entrance exam conducted every year. While the number of questions in this year’s paper remain the same, the duration of the entrance test has been reduced by 30 minutes. By qualifying this exam, candidates can pursue MBA from prestigious institutes within the state of Maharashtra.
