Students can access the KVPY mock test 2019 by going to kvpy.iisc.ernet.in >> applications. On that page, is the link to launch mock test against the text that says “mock computer based test of KVPY aptitude test”.

Upon clicking the mock test link, a login page opens. There is no need to fill anything here, pre-filled dummy data appears on the page that says 11111 in the first field and some random password is given in the second field. Simply clicking sign in button is all that is required on this page.

Signing in leads to the instructions page for KVPY mock test. A similar instructions page will be displayed in the exam on the actual exam day. Here, one can see the exam duration (180 minutes), how to mark answers and how to navigate through questions. During the exam, the clock that appears on screen will be a common one for all test takers, and as soon as the timer reaches zero, the test will end by itself.

The mock test instructions page also explains the question palette. If question number is in a white colored square box then student has not visited the question yet. A red shape means question has not been answered. A green shape on the other hand means answered. A circular purple shape means that student has not answered the question but marked for review. Whereas a purple circle on which there is a green box also means that student has answered the question and also marked for review. Please note that answered and marked for review questions will be considered for evaluation.

Clicking the > arrow against the question palette will collapse or hide it, doing which, the test taker can see the question itself on a larger screen. To see the question palette again, simply click the < button.

During the exam, candidates can click the profile image on top right corner of screen to change the language of exam for the whole question paper.
