The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has successfully conducted the civil services prelims examination yesterday. The exam was conducted over two shifts. The first shift was held from 10 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift took place from 2 PM to 4 PM. The General Studies-I exam was scheduled in the first shift and the General Studies-II exam was held in the second shift.
As per experts, GS-I is all about the basics. Those students who had focused on the basics are likely to have done well in the exam. In fact, the students also vouch for the same. The first 15 to 20 questions of the paper mainly covered the Jharkhand special questions which were relatively common. However, as per students, 10 odd questions were asked.
A total of 100 questions were asked in the GS-I paper and the marks allotted to each question was 02. The total marks of the paper were 200. However, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The questions were asked in both English and Hindi. More or less, the questions were asked according to the prescribed syllabus. It was noted that maximum questions were based on Jharkhand history, culture, tribes, revolution, etc. In addition to that, a good number of questions were asked from the portion on the polity. Around 2 to 4 questions were asked from IT literacy.
Coming to GS-II, candidates have claimed that the difficulty level, as compared to GS-I was high. However, experts say that the level of the questions was at par with that of UPSC CSE. JPSC prelims GS-II basically covered the questions that are related to Jharkhand. Right from industries to sports, every question was related to Jharkhand.
The GS-II paper of JPSC civil services 2021 prelims is primarily devoted to state-based questions. This paper covers topics like the history of Jharkhand, movements, culture, dance, music, literature, sports, land acts like CNT & SPT, history of economic development in the state since 1947, the geography of Jharkhand, industrial policy, displacement, etc.
The official answer keys for both papers have not been released yet. Nonetheless, various coaching institutes and subject experts have taken to YouTube and posted the unofficial answer keys. Until the official answer keys are released, candidates can go through the unofficial JPSC civil services 2021 prelims answers and calculate the expected scores. The marking scheme for the exam is such that for every correct answer, 02 marks will be awarded while there is no negative marking for the incorrect ones.
