JEECUP 1st Round Counselling Result 2021

The Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) is going to publish the first seat allotment list for the JEE (Polytechnic) 2021 counselling session today, September 16, 2021. Candidates can check the allotment list on the official website jeecup.nic.in. Based on the college or institute allotted, candidates can either ‘freeze’ or ‘float’ the admission process. These two options were also mentioned in the official counselling schedule. On seeing these options, candidates have been getting multiple doubts or questions about them. Here’s all they need to know before they proceed with the admission process –

What are ‘freeze’ and ‘float’ options?

The JEECUP 2021 first round of counselling began on September 14, 2021. Candidates were given time up to September 16, 2021, at 3:00 pm to fill their preferred colleges and lock their seats. Based on the candidates’ choices, authorities have released a list of shortlisted aspirants today who will now, be able to either freeze or float the allotted option.

In case candidates wish to confirm their admission to the allotted college, they must choose the ‘freeze’ option and deposit the prescribed institution fee. This will confirm their admission to the respective institute and candidates can proceed with the document verification process. Students must verify their documents at the nearby district help centre from September 17 to 19, 2021, at 5:00 pm.

However, some candidates may not be satisfied with their college allotment and wish to proceed with the second round. Such candidates must choose the ‘float’ option and pay an amount of Rs.3,000 as of 1st round security fee. After floating the college option, these students can proceed towards the JEECUP 2021 counselling 2nd round. They will have to apply and pay the registration fee again for seat allotment. These formalities need to be completed between September 17 and 19, 2021, to apply for the second round.

An important thing to bear in mind is that candidates who float their college options are not required to verify their documents. This process is only meant for aspirants who have selected the freeze option. Conversely, the security deposit fee must only be paid by candidates selecting the float option and not those who have gone ahead with the freeze option.

JEECUP 2021 Overview of Exam

This year, a total of 1,74,770 candidates qualified for the JEE (Polytechnic) 2021 examination against the approximately 2,28 lakh seats made available for admission. The second round of allotment for qualified candidates shall release on September 20, 2021, while the third allotment list will be released on September 23, 2021.
