National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted the first paper for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021. Today students appear for Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Plan). The B.Arch exam was held from 9 am to 12 noon and as per the initial reaction of the students, it was easy to moderate in the level of difficulty.
The mathematics section in the exam was easier than expected. However, the aptitude section was relatively tougher. Unexpectedly, the numerical section in mathematics section was nice. Overall, students are satisfied with the paper.
The students said that the change of the pattern in respect of the choices provided was a good move. However, the difficulty level of the exam was the same. There was no leniency there. However, some students said that the paper was easier than last year.
Before the exam, most of the students were scared to give the exam after spending much time at home, due to the pandemic. However, the arrangements at the centers were modest and most of the students were happy with the exam conducting process.
A total of 63,065 candidates have registered for Paper 2 of JEE Mains. As many as 22,748 out of these would be appearing for the second shift examination.
Shift 2 of JEE Main 23 Feb 2021 exam is from 3 pm to 6 pm. JEE Main will be also held on 24, 25, and 26 February. On these days, students will appear for JEE Main Paper 1 (B.Tech / B.E).
JEE Main B.Arch examination was of 400 marks and students had to attempt a total of 77 questions out of the total 82 questions. A choice of 5 NVT questions was available in Part I which is for Mathematics. In drawing section, there were total 2 questions of 100 marks. In maths section there were total 30 question but candidates have to attempt only 25 of 100 marks. Lastly, in aptitude section there were 50 MCQs of 200 marks. Negative marking of 1 marks in applicable in MCQs.
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is being held as a computer-based test in 331 cities, of which 321 are in India. Other than this, NTA is holding the exam at 10 international centers, which are in Kuwait, Singapore, Sharjah, Riyadh, Muscat, Kathmandu, Dubai, Doha, Colombo, and Bahrain.
Talking about the paper last year, the most difficult section of all 3 was the Physics section. Maths was moderate but lengthy last year and Chemistry the easiest with NCERT based questions.
This year JEE Main is being held 4 times. The first attempt is going on and the rest of the 3 attempts are on March 15-18, 2021, April 27-30, 2021, and May 24-28, 2021. The best score of the candidates of all 4 attempts will be used to prepare the AIR for admission.
This year for the Feb attempt 6,61,761 candidates have registered. For the March attempt, 5,04,540 registrations were received. For the April attempt 4,98,910 students have applied and for the May attempt, 5,09,972 registration have been received. As per the reports 21.75 lakh registrations have been made by JEE (Main) aspirants to take the test in 4 attempts.
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is a national-level examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency. The exam is held for those 10+2 qualified candidates, who seek admission in B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Plan course. Institutes like NITs, IIITs, CFTIs consider the score of JEE Main for admission. Even private institutes like Thapar and Amrita University grant admission on the basis of JEE Main rank.
