National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully concluded second shift of the fourth day of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 session 4 a short while ago. As per many news reports and student inputs, NTA did not hold exam in shift 1 today. Usually, NTA conducts shift 1 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The second shift is organised from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. However, today seems to be an exception in terms of per day shifts. Coming to Day 4 Shift 2 analysis of JEE Main 2021 session 4, the overall paper was moderate-to-easy in terms of level of difficulty.
Coincidentally, the Physics section was moderate while Chemistry was easy to solve with only 2-3 lengthy or difficult questions. However, Mathematics was moderate as many questions had lengthy solutions. While the Mathematics questions were based on simple concepts, the solutions were time consuming and hence, some students couldn’t attempt the entire section.
After attempting today’s JEE Main 2021 paper, some students felt that Session 4 was tougher than the February session but easier than the March one. However, the level of difficulty remained equal to the session conducted in July 2021. Thus, in terms of difficulty level, here is an overview –
Session 2 > Session 4 = Session 3 > Session 1
Subject-wise analysis of JEE Main 2021 Session 4: Day 4 Shift 2 (September 01, 2021)
According to students, JEE Main hot topics were given paramount importance in Mathematics and Physics. However, Chemistry was more or less, directly based on the concepts and examples covered in the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus. Hence, those students who studied the Chemistry NCERT syllabus thoroughly found today’s paper a piece of cake of solve.
Coming to the chapter-distribution in each subject, Organic Chemistry was given more weightage in comparison to Physical and Inorganic. However, the Physical Chemistry based questions were asked in the Numerical Answer Type (NAT) section. The section mainly focused on chapters such as Biomolecules, Chemistry in Everyday Life, P-Block, and D-Block. Overall, the section was easy to solve for most students.
In case of Mathematics, chapters from Calculus and Algebra were given more weightage in the exam. The paper comprised of 6-7 questions from Integration and Differential Equations. In case of Algebra, questions from Matrices and Determinants mainly featured in the paper. Other than this, JEE Main key topics like Vectors and 3D, Mathematical Reasoning and Probability were also asked in the exam. Overall, students found this section to be moderate and time-consuming.
Lastly, the Physics section had a mix of easy and moderate-level questions. Apart from JEE Main key topics like the Pulley Concept, Semiconductors and Modern Physics, questions were also asked from Communication Systems. However, the section was uniform with most topics being covered in the JEE Main 2021 Session 4 paper.
Overall, Day 4 Shift 2 paper was similar to the previous days in terms of level of difficulty and topics covered. Seen as this is the last JEE Main 2021 exam for B.Tech. aspirants, candidates are now figuring out their chances of qualifying for JEE Advanced 2022. The top 2,50,000 students will qualify for the next round, bringing them one step closer to becoming an IITian!
