Since National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that JEE Main 2019 will be held in various days and shifts, students were expecting that the opportunity to choose slots will be given. However, NAT released details and application form for the exam on September 01, 2018, and no information about the JEE Main 2019 slot booking was provided. Yet, dubious candidates kept on asking NTA about the slot booking and choosing of date, shift, and centre. To this, NTA has finally replied and made clear that allotment of JEE Main 2019 date, shift, and centre will be done randomly.
The official announcement was made on the official website, jeemain.nic.in. The notice was released in evening and clearly states that the allocation of JEE Main 2019 exam center, exam date, and exam session will be done randomly, through computer software. The Agency has also disclosed that candidates will get to know these after the lapse of application process, i.e. after September 30, 2018. The official notification is as follows:
This is for the first time when Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will not be held in offline mode. The exam will be held from January 06 to 20. The exam will be held in two shift which will conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Due to this, it was expected that NTA will allow candidates to choose the exam date and time.
In the information brochure also it is mentioned that exam date, shift, and centre will be made available by November 15, 2018. The date is tentative for now, as NTA has used the term ‘maybe made available’. However, candidates can expect the release of these near this duration only.
Candidates will get to check it through a login. It will be available at jeemain.nic.in. To access it, candidates will have to enter application number and password. NTA will only allocate JEE Main 2019 date, shift, and centre to those candidates who will apply for the exam in the prescribed format.
The venue of the exam center and other details will be informed through the admit card of JEE Main 2019, which will be issued on December 17, 2018. The candidates will only be able to download the admit card online. On the exam day, the candidates will have to carry admit card as printed on an A4 sheet. Along with the admit card, the candidates will also have to carry one passport size photograph and an id proof. A valid id proof can be pan card, aadhaar card, passport, driving license, voter id card, etc.
