The Indian School Certificate (ISC) conducted its Mass Media and Fashion Designing theory paper today i.e. December 11, 2021, from 2 p.m till 5 p.m. Students can compare their answers to those in the aforementioned links and get a rough idea about their examination. The examination is conducted for a duration of 3 hours but the question papers are distributed 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the exam. This gives the students ample time to understand the question paper and make their choices.
ISC released a specimen paper too for students to assess and get prepared for the exam. The paper is divided into two sections and the students have to attempt five questions in total. The question paper carries a total of 35 marks divided into two/four sub-questions of seven/ three and a half marks each. Students were instructed to attempt two questions from each section. The remaining one question could be attempted from any section depending upon the discretion of the student.

Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination) conducted its board examination in two semesters. The first semester exams are being held from November 22 to December 20. The second semester examination will be conducted sometime in April/May. A cumulation of the marks obtained in both semesters will determine the final percentage of each student.
This semester, questions were asked from a shortened, revised syllabus for the ISC Fashion Desigining subject. The paper had questions from the following sections:
- Introduction to Textiles
- Textile Fibres
- Yarn
- Fabric Construction Techniques
- Textiles in India – Indigenious Dyes
These units had questions on the fundamentals, including the definitions of fashion, fashion technology, and classification based questions on desgin and elements of design. Questions from the sub-units were also asked, including the ones on current fashion and design trends. Students could easily answer these questions. Practical knowledge in these aspects did help the students to write the examination for Fashion Designing better.
