The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has started the preparation for the West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination 2022. The examination will start on April 2, 2022, and the president of HSEP will be conducting a meeting with the 5 district administrations of North Bengal next week.
The president of the HSEP, Chiranjit Bhattacharya, is going to North Bengal 4 months before the start of the examination. Several officials, including the Secretary, are also attending the meeting apart from the Speaker of the council. A meeting will be held with the district administrations of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Kochbihar, and Kalimpong to make the necessary preparations for the examination.
Divergent from the last few years, the home centers will allow students to write the exam in their own schools this year. In such a scenario, the exam will be conducted in around 6,000 schools. Extra care has been taken to tackle any confusions or disturbances that may arise due to conducting examinations in the home center.
According to media reports, the speaker of the council might put a special message in front of the district administrations to prevent the occurrence of any incidents like in Togatuki. In the meeting with district administrations, they will be informed about the council’s recommendation to cancel the approval of the school where any mishap takes place. The approval will be canceled even if the mishap happens after the start of the examinations.
Compared to the last few years, the method of conducting the examination has also changed. In that case, the speaker can give new instructions on multiple management issues, including the distribution of question papers. Even though the HSEP has started preparations to hold the meetings with various district administrations, the Board of Secondary Education has not yet decided to hold the meetings. According to the Board sources, they might start conducting meetings in mid-January.
However, it is unclear as to why the Higher Education Council is planning to conduct the meeting with the district administration so early in time. The meetings with the remaining districts will be held just before the start of the examination.
