Indian Oil Corporation Limited is inviting online applications to fill up 436 vacancies for the posts of Technician & Trade Apprentice in 2020. The official advertisement for recruitment of Technical and Non-Technical Apprentices in North India is published at the official website i.e. iocl.com. Eligible and intending candidates can apply online at the aforementioned website from November 23, 2020, to December 19, 2020. Admit cards for the written selection test are to be disbursed tentatively on December 22, 2020. The selection test is tentatively scheduled to be held on January 03, 2021.
The complete vacancy bifurcation details are available through the official advertisement published by IOCL at the website. As per the advertisement, 436 vacancies in total are bifurcated across various states and UTs in North India as well as across various constitutional categories. Selected candidates will be appointed for a period of 12 months of apprenticeship training. During this period, paid a monthly stipend as per provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/Apprentices Rules 1992 and Corporations’ guidelines.
Candidates are advised to read the entire advertisement and understand the eligibility conditions before applying for the apprentices’ recruitment. One must be at least 18 years old and not more than 24 years old as on 30.11.2020 in order to apply for the recruitment. In addition, detailed post-wise educational qualification requirements are also indicated by IOCL in the detailed advertisement.
In general, for applying to the post of Technician Apprentice, candidates must have a 3 years Diploma in relevant technical trade with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Those who are intending to apply for Trade Apprentice posts must have a full-time ITI qualification awarded by NCVT/SCVT recognised institute. In addition, candidates who are intending to apply for non-technical trade apprentice posts viz. Trade Apprentice-Accountant, DEO (Fresher/Skilled Certificate Holders), must have a Graduate degree with 50% marks or Class 12 with at least 50% marks. Candidates are advised to refer to the advertisement for the detailed information about eligibility conditions.
IOCL will conduct written selection tests for the selection of registered candidates. The test will be conducted at Chandigarh Jaipur, Lucknow and New Delhi. The written test will consist of a paper of 100 MCQs which must be completed within 90 minutes. The paper will be documented in the English & Hindi language. One must secure at least 40% marks in the exam in order to qualify. Final selection is subject to document verification and qualifying in the fitness/medical test.
