The Indian Navy has published notification for recruitment of sailors for sportsmen through sports quota entry 02/2019. Indian Navy sports quota recruitment 2019 is open for sportsmen and application form for the same has to be submitted with documents so as to reach the Indian Navy Sports Control Board by August 30. Forms of applicants from north east, JnK, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshwadeep and Minicoy islands will be accepted until September 6.
Indian Navy will call deserving candidates for sports trial at naval centers. Those qho qualify trials will have to undergo medical examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
Sailors who join through sports quota will get Rs 14,600 as stipend during training. After that they will be in level 3 of defence pay matrix, that is Rs 21,700 – Rs 43,100. Plus they will get MSP at the rate of Rs 5,200 per month, and DA as applicable.
Aspirants need to go through the Indian Navy sports quota recruitment 2019 notification number 02/2019 and obtain the application form from the same. The form, on an A4 size paper, needs to be filled up and sent through ordinary post. Forms sent through speed post or registered post will be rejected. Envelope to send the form should be brown in color. On it, type of entry, sports discipline with achievements, should have clearly superscribed. Address for submission of the form is “The Secretary, Indian Navy Sports Control Board, 7th Floor, Chanakya Bhavan, Integrated Headquarters, MoD (Navy), New Delhi 110 021”.
This sports quota recruitment has three entries. First is the direct entry petty officers. Second is senior secondary recruits (SSR). Third is matric recruits (MR). Sports disciplines, from which sportsmen are invited to apply for this Indian Navy recruitment 2019, are athletics, aquatics, basketball, boxing, cricket, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, kabaddi, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, squash, best physique, fencing, golf, tennis, kayaking and canoeing, rowing, shooting, sailing, wind surfing.
Indian Navy aspirants aged 17 to 22 years as on August 1, who have passed class 12, and excelled in their sport by participating in team games or individual events, can apply for direct entry petty officers. Team game sportsmen should have taken part in international or national or state level games at junior or senior level, or represented university in inter university tournament. Individual events sportsmen should have bagged sixth rank in nationals (seniors) or third rank in nationals (juniors) or third position in inter university meets.
SSR entry requires applicant to have class 12 pass qualification, and having participated in international or national or state level in sports, or represented university in inter university tournament. Age of applicant in this case should be between 17 to 21. Matric Recruits on the other hand can be class 10 pass, between 17 to 21 years of age, and having participated in international or national or state level tournament.
To join Indian Navy as Sailors, candidates should have requisite medical standards. Minimum height ought to be 157 cms. Moreover tattoos are only allowed on inner face of forearms.
