Candidates will have to qualify both rounds on the same day to get inducted into the Indian Navy. Of course, their selection will also be subjected to the percentage obtained in Matric or Class 10 board exams.
The exams for all the posts will be conducted through the OMR-based pen-and-paper mode at selected centres across the country. Candidates will be judged on the basis of their knowledge in Science, Mathematics and Current Affairs. While the MR exam will be of 10th level, the AA & SSR exam will be of 12th level. The former will be of 30 minutes, and the latter will be of 1 hour. Once the written exam is over, they will be subjected to PFT.
PFT as the name suggests, will judge a candidate’s physical health and strength. Physical strength of course is an important attribute of any naval officer. During this test, candidates will be expected to complete 1.6 Km run in 7 minutes, 20 squats as well as 10 push-ups. Those who qualify this test will then be evaluated based on their performance in the written exam and allotted a rank in the merit list.
