Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has announced recruitment for various non-teaching positions. There are total 18 vacancies for the post of superintending engineer, deputy registrar, assistant registrar, career development officer, public relation officer, student’s counselor, junior engineering in civil and electrical, physical training instructor, and junior technician. Candidates can apply from iitk.ac.in and the last date to register is November 26, 2019, until 5:00 pm.
Candidates willing to apply for superintending engineer and deputy registrar post need to ensure that their age is below or upto 50 years. The upper age limit for the post of assistant registrar, career development officer, public relation officer, and student’s counselor is upto 45 years. The same for the post of junior engineering and junior technician is 35 and 30 years, respectively.
Minimum education qualification needed for IIT Kanpur recruitment varies for each post. Candidates either need bachelor’s or master’s degree with certain years of experience. One can check the details from Advt. No. 1/2019, available on iitk.ac.in.
Candidates who fulfil all the criteria can apply online from the official website. To do so, candidates need to visit iitk.ac.in and under the “announcements” section, click on “advertisement No. 1/2019” link. Soon after clicking the link a new page will open and the candidates “apply online” link is will be displayed.
Next, the candidates need to read all the instructions and then click on blue “register new user” link available towards the end of the login portal. To register, candidates have to enter user id, password, e-mail, and set a hint question with an answer.
Candidates also need to pay application fee, which is Rs. 500 for superintending engineer, deputy registrar, assistant registrar, career development officer, public relation officer, student’s counselor posts and Rs. 250 for the rest of the vacancies. The amount can be paid online, using net banking, credit card or debit card. SC, ST, PwD and female candidates are exempted for paying the fee.
Selection of the candidates will be done based on various modes like the interview, seminar and interview, written test and interview, and written test and skill test, etc. It varies for each post.
Selected candidates will be hired on the set pay scale which is Rs. 21700 to Rs. 69100 for the junior technician, under level 3 pay matrix. Rs. 35400 to Rs. 112400 for junior engineer, under level of 10 pay matrix. Rs. 123100 to Rs. 215900 for superintending engineer, as per pay level 13. Rs. 78800 to Rs. 209200 as per level 12 for deputy registrar and Rs. 56100 to Rs. 177500 for rest of the positions, according to pay level 10.
