Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya is offering admission to its full time residential PhD program and has published admission notice for the same. IIM BG is now also inviting applications in online mode from eligible candidates for PhD admission 2020, at iimbg.ac.in. The last date to apply online is March 10, 2020.
IIM Bodh Gaya PhD admission 2020 is being offered in areas of economics and business environment, finance and accounting, IT and systems, marketing, operations management and quantitative techniques.
Candidates who have a masters degree in any discipline with at least 60%, or have a professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with 60%, or a 5-year or 4-year integrated masters degree in any discipline with 60% after 10+2, or 4 year / 8 semester BE / B.Tech / B.Arch qualification with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 can apply for this PhD admission.
Interested admission seekers who will appear in their final year exam but complete all requirements by June 30, 2020 can also apply. It may be noted that there is an age limit for PhD admission in IIM BG; candidates ought to be no more than 40 years of age as on June 1, 2020.
For admission, the IIM will accept scores of the Common Admission Test (CAT) as well as GATE, GRE, GMAT, and JRF (UGC / CSIR). These exams are usually held yearly or more than once a year; their scores of those exams will be accepted for which the exams were held after March 10, 2018.
Only such candidates who have previously obtained 2-year PGP in the last 10 years from IIMs with at least 6 grade point out of 10 with no Fs and not more than 2 Ds in first year can directly apply without any of these exam scores.
IIM Bodh Gaya will shortlist candidates on the basis of their academic records and performance in the exams. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview for the purpose of final selection.
Final merit list will be on the basis of test scores, PI, academic qualification, relevant work experience, research aptitude, publications, reference letter.
Financial assistant will be given to full time research students. This will cover the entire academic expense including tuition fee, computer and library fee, hostel fee, et al. Scholarship will be Rs 32,800 per month till comprehensive exam, then Rs 35,400 per month post comprehensive exam, and Rs 39,300 per month post approval of thesis proposal.
As an additional financial support, candidates will receive a contingency grant of Rs 25,000 per year for 4 years, Rs 50,000 one time grant to buy a laptop, and Rs 1,75,000 to attend conferences after completing comprehensive exam.
The application fee is Rs 500 for one area, and Rs 1000 for two areas. SC, ST, PWD, women applicants are exempted from application fees. Documents to be uploaded in the online form include date of birth proof, category certificate if applicable, PWD certificate if applicable, test scorecard, educational qualification proof.
