Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has released International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) answer key 2019. The answer keys have been published for set A and set B. They are available for all classes including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.
The answer keys of classes 1st to 4th contain answers to all 35 questions asked in exam. Classes 5th to 10th IGKO question paper had 50 questions each, and answer keys thus have answers of all 50 questions.
To download the IGKO answer key 2019, students need to visit sofworld.org. There, click on answer keys 2019 under the update zone. The next page contains two links – SOF IGKO Answer Keys Set A, SOF IGKO Answer Keys Set B. Clicking on these links take to the page where answer keys of these sets, for all the classes are available. Click on the relevant link, depending on the class for which answer key needs to be seen. A pdf file containing answer key gets downloaded thereafter.
First level exams for IGKO were held on September 6, 2019, and September 26, 2019. It was a a test with multiple choice questions to be attempted in 60 minutes. The exam was held during school hours. Registrations for the olympiad were accepted through schools.
As per the pattern of questions and marking scheme section in sofworld.org, IGKO has questions on general awareness, current affairs, life skills, achievers section. For classes 1st to 4th, each question is of 1 mark except the achievers section where questions are of 2 marks each; and paper is overall of 40 marks. Likewise for classes 5th to 10th, questions are of 1 mark each except for achievers section where questions are of 3 marks; and total marks of the paper are 60.
Last year SOF had conducted IGKO exam on September 11 and 25, and announced the result on October 27. Considering that a similar timeline has been followed for the exam this year, results are anticipated around the same time as well.
Result of the olympiad will also be hosted at sofworld.org. To check individual results, students will have to enter their roll numbers on the login or result check page.
Rank 1, 2, and 3 will respectively get Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 10,000 at an international level. At the zonal level, prizes will be as follows. First rank holder will get Rs 5,000. Second rank will get Rs 2,500. Whereas Rank third will get Rs 1,000. Fourth to tenth position holder will get gifts worth Rs 1,000 each.
SOF will also give medals and certificates to different rank holders. Whereas the first, second, and third rankers will get scholarship with medal and certificate, fourth to tenth will get them with gifts.
The Science Olympiad Foundation organizes several olympiads every year. This includes IGKO, IEO, NSO, IMO, NCO, ICO to name a few.
International English Olympiad (IEO) are being held on October 10, 2019, October 15, 2019, and November 5, 2019.
National Science Olympiad (NSO) will be held on November 11, 2019, and November 21, 2019.
International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) shall be organized on December 5, 2019, and December 17, 2019.
National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) is scheduled for November 28, 2019, and December 19, 2019.
SOF has recently launched International Commerce Olympiad in partnership with the ICSI, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt of India.
