ICMR National Institute of Epidemiology is inviting applications from adequately qualified candidates to fill up 05 vacancies for the posts of Consultant and Junior Consultant for specified durations. ICMR NIE Recruitment 2020 Detailed Advertisement containing the complete details of the recruitment process is available at nie.gov.in. As per the detailed advertisement, there are 03 vacancies available for the post of Consultant (Medical) in IHCI-ICMR project. In addition, 01 vacancy for the post of Junior Consultant is also available in Health Technology Assessment Resource Centre and 01 vacancy for the post of Consultant II is also available in Online course for Post Graduate medical student and faculty “Basic Course in Bio-Medical Research”. Selected candidates are to receive monthly consolidated payment of Rs 1 lac, Rs 40000 and Rs 1.25 lac for the posts of Consultant (Medical), Junior Consultant and Consultant II respectively.
Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the specified minimum conditions of eligibility before applying for the recruitment. Candidates within the maximum age of 70 years and possessing a Master’s degree in Applied Epidemiology/Public Health after MBBS/MD or DNB (Medicine, Community Medicine. Pharmacology) are eligible to apply for the post of Consultant (Medical). Candidates with PhD qualification in Epidemiology/Public Health after MBBS and 5 years of research experience are also eligible to apply.
Similarly, candidates possessing a Master’s degree in Economics/Health Economics/Econometrics/Statistics/Actuarial Science/Data Analytics/Public Health in addition to one year of research experience are eligible to apply for the post of Junior Consultant. The maximum age limit for this post is 45 years. On the other hand, candidates possessing a MD (Community Medicine/PSM) or DNB (Epidemiology) or a Master’s degree in Epidemiology/Public Health are eligible to apply for the post of Consultant II. Candidates holding a PhD (Epidemiology/Public Health) with 3 years or more of teaching/training/research experience are also eligible to apply for the post. The maximum permissible age limit for this post is 70 years.
Selection of eligible applicants is to be done through interview. The date, time, venue and other details of the interview will be intimated later at the official website of the ICMR NIE. For the post of Consultant (Medical), selected candidates will be posted at Chennai, Hyderabad and North East Region. However, for the posts of Junior Consultant and Consultant II, selected candidates will be posted at ICMR NIE, Chennai.
