The standard of GujCET 2018 will be on the basis of class 12th standard. Earlier the admissions for engineering, pharmacy and diploma courses were done on the basis of JEE Score. However, the state government opted out as they observed that the Gujarati-medium students were not able to do well in JEE examination. So, from 2017 onwards, the admission was granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in GujCET.

The entrance exam will consist of MCQ questions from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The paper for Physics and Chemistry will be combined. This means there will be 80 number of questions of 80 marks which the students to complete ina duration of 120 minutes. While the paper for Biology and Mathematics will be separate and so the OMR Answer Sheet will also be provided differently. For Biology and Mathematics, 40 questions of 40 marks for each subject will be asked and 60 minutes for one subject will be given to students.

The examination papers will be given in three mediums namely, Gujarati, English, and Hindi. Last year, 1.32 lakh students appeared in GujCET out of which 66,473 had taken the test in A Group and 65,542 in B Group.

The application form for Gujarat CET 2018 is to be filled completely by online mode. However, the date for the commencement of the application process is not yet announced. The candidates will be able to apply online at gseb.org. In the online application form, the students need to enter their Personal Details, Educational Qualification Details, etc. Also, the candidates need to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature in the online application.
