Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has now cancelled the Gujarat Board Exam 2021. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani has recently announced that the State’s 12th Board Exam stand cancelled due to COVID-19.
As per the reports, Gujarat Board Examinations which was scheduled to start from next month onwards are now cancelled. One of the pioneer new channels has also confirmed the news by sharing the same on their Twitter account.

On Tuesday, June 01, 2021, the Gujarat State Board has released the complete schedule for GSEB Board Exam 2021. The examination was scheduled to start from July 01, 2021 with the first examination of the Physics subject. It was scheduled to take place for 16 days ending on July 16, 2021.
However, later on the same day at 7:27 PM, a Press Information Bureau (PIB) was released by the Government cancelling the CBSE 12th Boards Examination. A similar announcement was made by the Prime Minister by his official Twitter account. His tweet states that the “Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exam.” The decision was announced after extensive consultations from education experts and considering the students’ health.
Right after this announcement, several Central and state boards announced the cancellation of the 12th Board exam. First to make an announcement was the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Students who were expected to appear for the CISCE board Exam now have their examination cancelled. Haryana Board of Secondary Education has also cancelled its 12th examination. Latest to join the bandwagon is Gujarat Board who has confirmed that no class 12th exams will be conducted this year
It is expected that the Gujarat State Board will prepare the 12th board result based on well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner. As per PIB released by the Government, the 12th results will be prepared based on the objective criteria. In case, students desire to take the examination, they can opt for that. However, the exam will be organized after the COVID-19 situation is under control and it is feasible to organize the exam.
As of now, only the Haryana State board and Gujarat State Board has confirmed the cancellation of the 12th Board exam. It is expected that other state boards will follow the precedent and cancel the examinations. Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Education Minister, has said that the final decision of the SSLC and PU exams of the state will be announced soon. Meanwhile, the Education Minister of Rajasthan is likely to announce the final decision on the Rajasthan 12th Board exam today.
