Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is scheduled to be held on February 05, 2022. However, clouds of uncertainty have surrounded the candidates whether the examination will be held on the scheduled date. Earlier, the admit card was supposed to be released on January 03, 2022, but it was delayed citing some unavoidable reasons. Then, a new date was issued that said GATE 2022 admit card will be out on January 07, 2022, but this date too was found to be a mere hoax.
With all of these things and no clear answers from the management itself, the students have to resort to a state of panic and worry. A lot of rumours and speculations started doing rounds on social media platforms stating that the GATE 2022 exam has been postponed. However, none of these can be called true in the absence of an official announcement by the authorities.
Recently, the director of IIT Kharagpur, Professor Virendra Kumar Tewari said, right now there are just reviewing the situation of pandemics and will decide soon if it would be right to conduct the examination on the scheduled date or not. He also urged the students to keep a tab on the official website for all the latest know-how and stay away from rumours.
Although the honourable director could not provide a clear answer to this whole matter, one of our team members at Aglasem called on the GATE helpline today to get a clear answer regarding this whole fiasco:
Q: Hello! Is the GATE 2022 exam postponed?
A: No, as of now there is no decision regarding the postponement, it will be held on the scheduled date.
Q: The admit cards were delayed. Isn’t this going to impact the exam schedule?
A: No, the admit card for GATE 2022 shall be released in the upcoming days. It isn’t going to impact the rest of the schedule.
Q: When will the institute release notifications in this regard?

With this conversation, we can assume that as of now no decision has been made regarding the postponement of the GATE 2022. The students are also advised to continue their preparations and avoid any kind of rumours as it is only going to create confusion and hamper their overall preparations for the examination.
