GATE 2021 Registration Last Date Extended Again; Apply With Regular Fee Till 5 PM Today

IIT-Bombay has again extended the last date to register for GATE 2021 till today i.e. October 8, 2020 5:00 pm on the official portal for eligible candidates without paying any extra charges

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has again extended the date to register for The Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2021 at appsgate.iitb.ac.in. The last date to register for the same is today i.e. October 8, 2020, till 5:00 pm. After this deadline, the facility to register will be open till October 12, 2020, with late fee payment of Rs.500. Subsequently, successfully registered candidates are given the correction facility to change their exam city, choice of exam and category. This facility shall be available from October 28 to November 11, 2020. GATE 2021 shall be conducted for candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate courses in engineering, architecture technology as well as in arts and commerce streams.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the GATE 2021 examination through the official website appsgate.iitb.ac.in. and click on the option ‘GATE 2021 Registration’. They have to first register and log-in to the website for accessing the application form. To register, candidates need to fill-in necessary details like name, email ID, country of residence, mobile number and the preferred password. After successfully registering, candidates can log-in to the website and fill the application form.

The GATE 2021 application form contains important particulars related to the exam and the candidate which have to be filled. Firstly, candidates are required to fill-in exam details like choice of paper, examination city, examination country, etc. Then, they must fill personal details like name, enrolment ID, mobile number, date of birth, gender, nationality, etc. The third step includes filling-in the address details, country, pin code, etc. Candidates are also required to enter their qualifying degree details like degree name, college name and address, etc. After entering the necessary particulars, applicants need to upload scanned documents such as colour photograph, signature and valid ID proof. The last step of the application process is the exam fee payment.

The examination fee for GATE 2021 depends on the category to which the candidate belongs. Authorities have also given candidates some extra time to finish the application process. However, to avail this time, they are required to pay an addition Rs.500. Candidates must also note that this facility shall only be open till October 12, 2020. OBC/GEN candidates have to pay Rs.1500 and Rs.2000 in the extended period. SC/ST/Transgender/Female candidates have to pay Rs.750 and in the extended period, Rs.1250. Candidates from Addis Ababa, Colombo, Dhaka and Colombo are required to pay US $50 and in the extended period, Us $70. Dubai and Singapore candidates have to pay US $100 and US $120 in the extended period.

GATE 2021 is scheduled to be conducted over 6 days in 12 different sessions on from February 5 to 7 and February 12 to 14, 2021. The examination results shall be declared on 22 March 2021. Registration for the exam began on September 12, 2020, through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
