The last date to attend to any defects on GATE 2019 Registration form is October 25, 2018 i.e. tomorrow. The application form correction process of GATE 2019 started on September 27, 2018. Thus, during this period candidates were given chance to make changes in their application form if there were any errors.
GATE 2019 governing body – IIT Madras scrutinised the application forms after the submission of the forms concluded and notified the students of any error in the form. Thus, the correction window was opened which will close tomorrow.
Only those candidates who will rectify the errors before the last date, will be issued the GATE 2019 Admit Card from January 4, 2019 onwards. the notice on the GATE 2019 website clearly mentions that “Applications of those candidates who do not attend the defect by 25th October, 2018 will not be considered for GATE 2019 examination.”
The form correction process is a crucial part of GATE 2019 as the details mentioned by the candidates on the form will be crossed verified during the admission process. If any details is found wrong the further process might get cancelled. GATE 2019 is being held in 24 subjects, for admission of candidates in M.Tech / M.Sc. / M.Arch / M.Plan / Ph.D courses, offered by IITs. Score of the exam will also be used by NITs and CFTIs for admission, as well as by various PSUs for recruitment.

Thus, GATE authorities advice the candidates that they must attend to any error in their GATE 2019 Application Form before the last date. To make correction in the application form candidates have to access GOAPS and login using the enrollment ID and password. On doing so, they will be able to see the ‘Change Applicant Details’ button. On clicking the button they can rectify the errors in their application form.
GATE 2019 will be held on February 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2019. The exam will be held in 2 shifts daily – 9:30 AM to 12:30 Noon and at 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates have to mandatorily carry their admit card to be able to enter the exam center. The exam will be conducted in online mode only and across various exam centers across India. On an average, around 9 lakhs students participate in GATE each year.
