GATE 2019 Exam Day Instructions With Dress Code; Exam Starts From 02 February

Only 1 day is left for GATE 2019 Exam to start. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019 will be held over a period of 4 days and there will be 2 shifts each day – Forenoon shift and Afternoon shift. The GATE 2019 Exam Date is February 02, 03, 09 and 10, 2019. IIT Madras has already issued the GATE 2019 Admit Card on January 04, 2019.

Recently, one of the exam center address was changed. The code for which the exam center address was changed is ‘4035’. The old address was PIXN Technology Pvt Ltd, Burdwan, Pin code: 713104 which is replaced by the new address – University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan,
Golapbag (North), G.T. Road Burdwan, West Bengal, Pin code: 713104.

The students who had the center code as ‘4035’ now need to download the new admit card from the GOAPS portal. To download the admit card candidates need Enrollment ID / Email Address and Password. Also, the candidates who have yet not downloaded their admit card must log in to the portal and get the admit card.

GATE 2019 Dress Code

There is no dress code for GATE 2019 as declared by IIT Madras. However, the candidates must abide by some basic rules like not wearing any baggy clothes, avoiding metals and pieces of jewelry. Also, candidates must avoid any caps, goggles, and scarfs. Wear clothes with less or no pockets. If the candidates follow these guidelines, there will be no issue while the verification process at the exam centers.

The GATE 2019 exam shift time for each day will be 09:30 AM – 12.30 PM (Forenoon Session) and 14:30 PM – 17:30 PM (Afternoon Session). The candidates need to re[ort as per their shift time, at least 1 hour prior. Note that, candidates will NOT be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10:00 AM in the forenoon session and after 15:00 PM in the afternoon session.

As per the schedule on February 02, 2019 the exam will be conducted for CY, ME-1, and MN in the forenoon and in the afternoon session ME-2, XE, XL, TF exam will be held. On February 03, 2019, CS, CH exam will be held in the forenoon session and in the afternoon session AE, AG, AR, BT, EY, GG, IN, MA, MT, PE, PH, PI, ST exam will be held.

On February 09, 2019, EC exam will be conducted in the forenoon session and in the afternoon session EE paper will be held. On the last day of the exam that is on February 10, 2019, CE-1 exam will be conducted in the forenoon session and in the afternoon session, the exam for CE-2 will be conducted.

Civil Engineering (CE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) exam are being held in 2 sessions. All other papers are being conducted in a single shift only.

The exam is being held in the online mode only and the candidates must carry a valid original photo id proof with the GATE admit card to be able to enter the exam centers. Also, any Personal calculators, wristwatches, mobile phones or any other electronic devices are NOT allowed inside the examination hall. A Virtual Scientific Calculator will be available on the computer screen during the examination. Candidates have to use the same during the examination.

Also, the candidates will get Scribble pad for any rough work. However, the candidate has to write his/her name and registration number on the scribble pad before he/she starts using it. Before leaving the exam center, the scribble pad must be returned to the invigilator.
