Registration for Ph.D and M.Phil programmes will begin on May 20. Delhi University (DU) Undergraduate admission online registration portal was opened on May 15, 2018. And on the first day itself, a splurge of more than 43,000 applications was received within 24 hours. The registration is now open for various merit-based, entrance-based, NCWEB and other quota based courses in colleges affiliated with DU. The last date for registration for these courses is June 7 and the university will publish the first cut-off details of its merit-based courses on June 19.
“Since 6 pm yesterday, we have received 43,000 applications and there have been no technical glitches reported from our side.” Said an official associated with admissions told Press Trust of India.
Last year, more than 3 lakh candidates applied for more over 50,000 seats available in Colleges under Delhi University. According to the reports, there are over 56,000 seats being offered across 63 DU colleges this year.
The registration is open on the official DU Portal. While the registration for undergraduate programmes began yesterday at 6 pm, registrations to postgraduate programmes and the postgraduate diploma in cybersecurity and law registrations will begin on May 18. The PG programmes offered in DU are – MA, M.Sc, M.Tech, LLB, LLM, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Com, MLISc, MPE in various fields. Every year, almost 8000 students are granted admission on PG courses offered by DU.
Registration for Ph.D. and M.Phil programmes will begin on May 20.
There is no minimum age bar for admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the University and its colleges except in few specified courses.
DU will release the First Cut-Off Marks List by the Colleges on June 19, 2018, next month, and eligible candidates will be given time from 19th June to 21st June 2018 for document verification, getting approval for admission and paying the online fee on DU’s portal. Four more cut-off lists will be announced by July 12, 2018.
Delhi University offers admission to 12 courses through Entrance Exam. The application fee for admission in Delhi university differs from course to course.
The admission process of Delhi University starts with filling up the online application form, appearing in entrance exam wherever applicable, checking the cutoff list and accordingly applying for the college and program.
The candidates who opt to appear for entrance test will be issued admit card. The admit card for DU Admission 2018 will be available online at the University’s official website under the candidates’ login. DU do not release any form in the offline mode neither any of it’s affiliated colleges. The varsity had made the entire admission process online in 2016.
The university will also reportedly conduct ‘Open Days’ to brief students on admission formalities from May 21 to May 29, except Sunday. They will be conducted in two sessions – from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and from 12 noon to 1.30 p.m.
