The admission process of SRM University is now open for the academic session 2019-20. The last date to apply for admission for the B.Tech aspirant is March 31, 2019. The B.Tech aspirants have to qualify in the entrance test of the university to take admission. The admission test is known as SRMJEEE (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam).

The SRM College Of Engineering
The SRM School Of Engineering is a vast institute providing an ocean of knowledge. The college of engineering is made of 7 schools – School of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture and Interior Design, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Chemical and Material Technology, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Bio-Engineering, School of Computing, School of Basic Sciences, School of Languages, and 3 centers – Center for TQM, Center for Nanotechnology, Career Development Center.
The schools consist of departments. The school of Civil Engineering, School of Languages and the School of Architecture and Interior Design has 1 department each, School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has four departments, School of Chemical and Material Technology has 2 departments, School of Bio-Engineering has 6 departments, School of Computing and the school of basic sciences has 3 departments each. The University ranks at no. 46 in the NIRF ranking 2018 in the engineering category.
Labs, Workshops and Infrastucture
Each of the departments is loaded with labs with world-class facilities. There are branch specific labs with branch specific facilities in each of them. Each department has its own dedicated building, The infrastructure if these buildings are thus dedicated to the nature of the department they host. For example, the Department of Architecture has their own Modeling workshops space. The labs, facilities, libraries, workshops etc. are all made available within the department building for the candidates.
Placements After 4 Years Of B.Tech Programme
In the last placement drive, companies visiting SRM IST made over 3000 job offers on the first day itself. There were 23 super dream offers (offering CTC of over 10 lakh). Microsoft has hired a student with a 38.5 lakh package. Amazon too has extended their offer for placement to 16 students, as Software Development Engineers.

It is said that there is never a dull moment on campus. The students’ affairs department of the college manages all activity related to extracurricular programs, forums, clubs, community service, etc. For the students, a dedicated library is open all the time. The library is located in the 15-Storey University Administrative Block and is spread over Ground + 3 floors of 1.50 Lakh sq ft area.

Around the campus, the students can spend their weekends at Marina beach, Pondicherry (around 180 KM from the college), Mahabalipuram, Shopping malls like Express Avenue, Phoenix mall and skywalk in Nungambakkam. Ooty and Kodaikanal can also be your destination if you have long weekends.
