Defense Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) is inviting applications on prescribed proforma for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellows (JRF). DRDO has published an official notice at the website drdo.gov.in to indicate the 04 vacancies in the advertised positions. The vacancies are in the DRDO’s Young Scientist Laboratory (CT) located in Chennai. Eligible candidates can apply offline on the proforma which is available at the aforementioned website. The last date of receipt of application forms is July 11, 2020. Candidates are advised to go through the detailed advertisement available at the website with which, the proforma for applications is appended.
There are 02 vacancies for candidates with a B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Science with CSIR UGC NET or GATE qualification. Those having an M.E/M. Tech degree in the aforementioned disciplines is also eligible to apply. Similarly, there are 02 vacancies open for those candidates who have B.E./B.Tech degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation Engineering with CSIR UGC NET or GATE qualification. Candidates having M.E./M.Tech degree in the aforementioned disciplines is also eligible to apply. Applicants must however have passed their qualifying degrees with first division marks. Furthermore, all candidates are required to be within the upper age limit of 28 years in order to apply. Relaxations on the upper age limit are however applicable for SC/ST and OBC(NCL) candidates as per government norms.
Eligible candidates are shortlisted for an interview through which they are to be selected for the final appointment into the vacant posts. Candidates are to be notified about the date, time, and place of interview through the post and/or email. The initial period of the fellowship will be for a period of two years. Selected candidates are entitled to receive a stipend of Rs 31000 in addition to applicable HRA. The period of fellowship may be further extended at the discretion of the DRDO. However, it is only on a temporary basis and does not guarantee absorption into any job role in DRDO.
Candidates must ensure that they fill up the proforma completely and sign it before sending it to the DRDO. Along with the application form, self-attested copies of educational qualifications and desirable experience as indicated in the detailed advertisement must also be attached. The envelope superscribed with “Application For JRF” must reach the DRDO before the last date.
