The Delhi University Post Graduate admission portal has been activated today, on May 18. The Application form is now available for Post Graduate Programmes and also for PG Diploma in Cybersecurity and Law. Whereas the M.Phil and Ph.d. Admission Forms will be available from May 20, 2018. The DU PG 2018 admission Portal will accept the application forms until 7 June.
As per the official release, DU will also conduct open days sessions from May 21 to May 29, except for Sundays. In these sessions, experts’ panel will discuss the registration, admission process and schedule related topics. The session will be conducted in 2 sessions: 10 AM to 11:30 AM and 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. Candidates can visit the sessions and clear their admission related doubts by interacting with the experts themselves.
DU also considers category wise reservation norms. The reservation percentage for SC candidates is 15%, for ST candidates it is 7.5% and for the OBC candidates, it is 27%.
The courses which are offered in DU under the postgraduate programmes range from Arts to Music and Fine Arts. Candidates can opt from about 72 PG Courses. The DU PG Admission 2018 to these courses will be done on the basis of merit and entrance exam. There is a 50-50 ratio — the 50% seats are filled on the basis of the merit while the remaining 50% seats are occupied on the basis of Entrance Test, Interview/Group Discussions.
Also, candidates must keep handy the scanned copies of their recent passport-sized photograph and also signature. A scanned copy of self-attested photo ID proof, class 10 certificate and caste certificate (if applicable) is also a requirement while filling the online application form.
The application form is available for the candidates in the online mode only. The varsity has made this clear in earlier announcements. Candidates of all category and quota have to apply online. To apply successfully an application fee payment is to be made. The fee is Rs. 500/- for General category candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
There is no minimum age bar to take admission in Delhi University for PG as well as in UG programmes. Although candidates need to fulfill certain educational qualification in the specified branches. It is mandatory for the candidates to fit into the eligibility criteria. The instructions for the same is made available on the official website of DU.
Also, after the application process is over, candidates who are eligible for the DU PG 2018 Entrance Test will be issued admit card. This again will be uploaded online. By logging in on the DU PG 2018 admission portal candidates will be able to access their admit card for the entrance test.
Candidates can access all the 3 admission portals for UG, PG and M.Phil./Ph.D. admissions from the main website of Delhi University. The UG admission Portal was activated on May 15, 2018. DU received a footfall of 43,000 candidates on their UG admission portal in the first 24 hours itself.
The UG admission forms will be available online at the portal until June 07, 2018. The DU admission process traditionally extends from four to five months. DU had invited applications for foreign nationals for admissions to its UG, PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D. courses for the 2018-19 academic year in February.
