Delhi Nursery Admission 2022-23: Important Dates
The DoE has also mandated the schools to charge Rs 25 only for the application form and also make it optional for parents to purchase the school prospectus. The first round of selected candidates and the waiting list is going to be issued on February 04, 2022. If necessary, the second list for the selected candidates will be released on February 21, 2022, and any further subsequent list is expected to be released by March 15, 2022. The application period for the Delhi Nursery admissions will end on March 31, 2022. The parents of the students are advised to register for the admission process for different schools at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience.
Although the schools have the choice to formulate the admission criteria according to them the DoE has put in place a few conditions to prevent discrimination during the admission process. These directions prohibit taking into account parents’ consumption habits (food and drink), educational qualifications, their professions, and oral interviews or a preferential system, like first-come-first-served. In case of any query about the first merit list, the parents can contact the schools through email/written/verbal interaction from February 05, 2022, to February 12, 2022, and for the second merit list, the parents can contact the schools from February 22, 2022, to February 28, 2022.
According to the announcements made by the DoE, the schools are required to set aside 22% of the seats for the economically weaker students and 3% for the students with special needs. Admissions for these categories are conducted through a draw for which the schedule is announced later by the DoE. The candidates who are going for the admission process for Nursery should be aged 4 years, 5 years for KG, and 6 years for 1st standard. Although the Delhi schools have reopened amid the Covid-19 and severe air quality levels, it is not made mandatory for the students to attend the offline lectures. The schools are asked to continue with the online classes and the candidates having consent letters signed by their parents are allowed to attend the offline classes.
