Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently list of exemplar items on the official website ctet.nic.in. These exemplar items are just model questions to give candidates an idea about the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021 examination. The eligibility test is scheduled to be conducted from December 12, 2021, to January 13, 2022, across the country. With such a high level of competition, candidates must possess a thorough understanding of the question paper, syllabus and marking scheme. The best way to do so is by going through these exemplar items uploaded by CBSE.
CTET 2021 examination is divided into two papers – Paper I and Paper II. While Paper I is meant for candidates who wish to teach Class 1-5, Paper II is for those interested in teaching Class 6-8. Those who intend to teach both primary and secondary sections have to appear for both papers.
To help understand these papers and their syllabus better, CBSE has released a PDF document containing exemplar items or model questions. In this document, there is a clear separation of Paper I and Paper II along with subject-wise segregation of questions. The board has also highlighted the correct option for each question in yellow. So, candidates will have no confusion while solving these CTET 2021 exemplar items.
According to the PDF document, Paper I will cover subjects like – 1. Child Development & Pedagogy, 2. Mathematics and 3. Environmental Studies. Similarly, Paper II will cover subjects such as – 1. Child Development & Pedagogy, 2. Mathematics & Science and 3. Social Studies or Social Science. Apart from the mentioned subjects, CTET 2021 will also cover questions based on languages. However, exemplar items for the language section will be uploaded in due course of time.
In the meantime, candidates are advised to go through these model question papers and solve them with utmost sincerity and concentration. The aim is not to know or mug up the correct answer, but to understand the topics covered in these papers. Also, candidates must also determine whether these questions are theoretical, analytical or both. By addressing both these points, candidates can strengthen their CTET 2021 preparation.
After knowing the topics covered in the model question paper and the nature of the questions, candidates must list down those topics and revise them thoroughly before the exam. Of course, this does not mean that other topics can be neglected. These exemplary items only provide a general idea about the CTET 2021 examination and do not confirm any particular topic or chapter. Candidates are advised to have this understanding and prepare for the eligibility test, accordingly.
