Two of the biggest government recruitment examination dates are clashing. Both the stage I examination of Civil Services 2019 (IAS and IFS) and Food Corporation of India 2019 has been scheduled on June 02, 2019. With the announcement by FCI regarding exam dates, it has come into highlight that the exam dates are falling on the same day. The exam for the FCI will be conducted in the span of four days that are 31 May, 1,2 and 3 June. So, 02 June exam is taking place along with civil services examination.
The clash of dates leads to confusion among aspirants who are appearing for IAS, IFS, and FCI examination. This year, FCI exam is scheduled for multiple days due to an increase in vacancies to 4103. Until now, no clarification has been issued by the official authorities. It is expected that once the matter came into notice, the officials may take the appropriate action.
The Civil Services 2019 (IAS and IFS) Admit Card for preliminary examination was released on April 30, 2019, at the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in and FCI Admit Card 2019 for phase I examination will be released 15 days prior to the examination date as per the official notice. The admit card for phase – I examination will be released at fci.gov.in or recruitmentfci.in.

The civil services written preliminary examination is consists of two paper. In the paper I and II objective types questions from general ability and general studies topics will be asked. The written examination will be of total 400 marks and in order to qualify the paper II, the candidates have to obtain minimum 33% marks and minimum qualifying marks for the paper I will be decided by the commission. The candidate’s selection will be done on the basis of preliminary, mains and interview test. The prelims result of civil services is expected to be declared in the month of August 2019.
In the FCI Phase I online test, a total 100 multiple choice questions from english language, reasoning ability, and numerical aptitude will be asked. In the examination for each correct answer, 1 marks will be awarded and for each incorrect answer, 1/4 marks from the assigned marks will be deducted. The recruitment for FCI will be done on the basis of phase I test, phase II test, skill test, and document verification round. The FCI phase I result is expected to be declared in the month of June / July 2019.
