Chattisgarh State Open School, CGSOS has postponed the class 10th and 12th examinations amid rising COVID-19 cases and lockdown imposed in many districts. The exams which were scheduled to be held from May 24 to June 15, 2021, for both Secondary (class 10) and Senior Secondary (class 12) have been deferred till further notice. The revised dates will be announced by the Board after reviewing the current pandemic situation in the state.

As soon as the board reviews the situation, it will release the revised time table for CG Open class 10th and 12th students online at cgsos.co.in. Earlier, it was reported that the CG Open School 10th, 12th exams were going to commence from March 27, 2021, onwards, however, considering the pandemic situation, the board later decided to conduct the examinations in the month of May instead of March as it is generally conducted.
Many state boards have already cancelled the class 10th board exams, hence, many students are also expecting for the Chattisgarh Open School to cancel the board exams and declare the result based on internal assessment. However, as of now, the CGSOS 10th, 12th exams have been postponed. Students can visit the board’s official website regularly for further updates on this.
Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Board Of Secondary Education (CGBSE) earlier also released the evaluation criteria for class 10th students. The board has cancelled the class 10th exams and postponed the class 12th examinations till further notice.
As per the notification released by the Board, it states that “Regular students who were not able to appear for practical exams or projects due to COVID-19 will be awarded minimum marks required for passing. Class 10 results will be prepared based on internal assessment. Hence, in every theory subject, a maximum of 72 out of 75 marks will be awarded. Similarly, for theory exams of additional subjects, a maximum of 29 out of 30 can be awarded and 68 out of 70 will be valid for practical exams.”
