Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission is recruiting for 25 vacant posts of Assistant Director in the Agriculture department of the state through the direct recruitment process. Candidates having a degree in Agriculture will be selected first through a written exam and subsequently through the final interview process. The Commission has published a detailed advertisement in this regard on the official website i.e. psc.cg.gov.in indicating the application procedure, exam pattern, syllabus, and other crucial details of the recruitment. Eligible applicants who aspire to apply for registration and participation in the event must however ensure that online applications from their end are submitted between June 15, 2020, and July 14, 2020. As per the detailed advertisement numbered 06/2020/Exam/Dated 04/06/2020 which came out on the official website, candidates having a second division graduate degree in Agriculture from a recognized agriculture university are eligible to apply. Candidates must be within the range of 21 to 30 years although relaxations up to 40 years on the upper age limit are allowed to reserved categories of the state. Then the process of application is conducted online and offline applications will be summarily rejected. Therefore, candidates are expected to register at the official website and then register and apply through the relevant links provided. A fee of Rs 400 (discounted for reserved categories) is also payable using one of the available payment modes during the online application process.
Once the application process is over, candidates will be allowed to make form corrections for a limited period between July 17 to 23, 2020. However, fundamentals such as name, father’s name, the address may not be necessarily available for modification. Based on the number of applications received by the Commission against this advertisement, the selection procedure will be decided. In particular, if the number of applicants is less than the number of vacancies, candidates will be directly shortlisted for interview.
With applicants being more than the number of advertised vacancies, a written exam will be conducted in centers located in the cities of Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and Bilaspur. The written exam in such a case will carry 300 marks while the interview will carry 30 marks. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 33% marks to qualify the written exam (23% for reserved candidates) while there are no minimum qualifying marks for the interview. Candidates will have to take the test of the written exam for two papers based on General Knowledge of Chhattisgarh and Agriculture comprised of 50 and 100 questions respectively and set in Hindi & English language. Carrying 2 marks each, the first paper, therefore, carries 100 marks while the second paper carries 200 marks. The final selection and appointment will be for an initial period of two years under the Level-12 pay scale as Gazetted officer of Grade-II in the Agriculture Department of the State.
