Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) hereby announces the exam date and rest of the schedule for Common Admission Test (C-CAT) December 2019 exam for admission to PG Diploma courses for the February 2020 batch. The CDAC CCAT I exam will be held on December 8, 2019, and CCAT II will be on December 15, 2019.
As per the schedule, online registration and application for CCAT should start today, that is on October 30, 2019. Last date to register, apply, and pay fees is November 27, 2019. CDAC will release admit card on December 4, 2019, and it will remain available for download until December 14, 2019.
After the exam, CDAC will declare result in the form of C-CAT ranks on December 27, 2019. Thereafter candidates will be able to select courses and centres online for first counselling from December 28, 2019, to January 5, 2020. The first round of seat allotment will be announced on January 9, 2020.
Candidates who will be allotted a seat in the first round, will be able to pay the first installment until January 16, 2020. After that the second round allotment will be out on January 21, 2020. For candidates who get a seat in second round, last date to pay the first installment will be January 31, 2020.
CDAC will accept caution deposit payment, and online selection of course and centers for second counselling from February 1, 2020 to February 8, 2020. The third seat allotment will be announced on February 11, 2020 on the basis of it.
Candidates will have to pay the balance course fees by February 16, 2020. Registration of students at training centers will take place a day after, on February 17, 2020. The PG diploma courses shall commence on February 18, 2020.
C-CAT is the entrance exam for admission to CDAC’s PG Diploma courses. It is held twice a year – in June for August batch admissions, and in December for February batch admissions. The common eligibility criteria for the programs is that candidates should have graduation in engineering in either IT or computer science or electronics or telecommunications or electrical or instrumentation. Or, candidates can have MSc or MS in any one discipline among computer science, IT, electronics. Mathematics in 10+2 is required, except those who have diploma plus engineering. Other than that, course wise specific eligibility criteria applies.
The courses offered are divided into three categories – I, II, III. Category I courses is PG-DGi. Category II courses are PG-DAC, PG-DBDA, PG-DITISS, PG-DIoT, PG-DAI, PG-DMC, PG-DSSD, PG-DASSD, PG-DHPCSA. And category III courses are PG-DESD, PG-DVLSI, PG-DBIHI. Category I candidates have to appear in only section A of C-CAT, category II have to appear in section A and B, and category III candidates need to appear in sections A, B, C.
To register, candidates need to go to cdac.in. Then go to education and training section and navigate to C-DAC’s PG Diploma Admissions. At the time of publishing this news, new registration link is not available on the candidate login page. However the direct link cdac.in/index.aspx?id=newregister1 is accessible, though candidates are yet to confirm whether they are able to register right now from there.
