CBSE may bring Practicals in Humanities for Class 12 Board Exams 2020

The Central Board of Secondary Education has made another change in the board exams. From 2020 onwards, the CBSE Board is trying to introduce the practical exams in Humanities for class 12 candidates. So, like the subjects Commerce and Science, now, class 12 board exams will notice the practical and project work in the evaluation of Humanities subjects.

The CBSE Board is trying to make the changes in those subjects which are only theory based. So, for the better understanding, the board is trying to put the practicals for these subjects.

As per the officials, with the help of this initiative, there would be the increments in the marks also. So, this revamped scheme will be applicable for 2019-20 and for 2020 session candidates. It would also be beneficial for the teachers too. They can teach students in a better way.

The board has set the objective to make the exam process more pertinent and beneficial for the students. It would make the exams more relevant and practical based. Students will also get some relief from this heavy theory based exams’ process.

As per the current process, the practical exams are used to be conducted in the school itself. But the external invigilators do the markings for these practical exams. The school teachers will be allowed to provide a certain percentage of marks while the external teacher will be given the authority to provide the rest of the marks. Thus, the internal teachers will have 15 marks in his/ her hand and also the external teacher is having another 15 marks to award the candidates.

For this year, the board exams for class 10 and 12 was released on December 23, 2018. The board is conducting the exams for the vocational subjects first and then it will complete the exams for the core subjects. For class 10, the board exams will be held from February 21 to March 29, 2019.

The CBSE board is conducting the exams for class 12 from February 15 to April 04, 2019. The exams will be held in the morning shift i.e. from 10:30 am. The board has also rescheduled some subject’s exams such as Computer science and Informatics Practice exam which was scheduled for March 28, 2019, and now it will be conducted on April 02, 2019. The exams which were about to be held on April 02, 2019 will now be conducted on April 04, 2019.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India. It is the largest exam conduction body, conducting exams for class 10th, class 12th.
