Students can access this question bank on the academic website of the central education board i.e., cbseacademic.nic.in. They may also access the official website cbse.gov.in to download the question banks. These question banks are essential study tools for students as they provide an overview of all the topics and focus on the important topics present in the syllabus. Separate question banks have been uploaded by the CBSE officials for each subject.
To download the question banks, students must access the dropdown menu of the “question bank” option present on the homepage of the website cbseacademic.nic.in. in the dropdown menu, they must choose their standard, either Class 10 or 12. By clicking on the appropriate class, a new link shall open in which the subjects shall be displayed. Students must click on the relevant subject to download its question bank. By doing so, a separate link containing the document shall open. Candidates can download the question bank to prepare for their exams.
CBSE has provided questions banks for three subjects in Class 10 namely English, Mathematics and Science. Similarly, questions have been uploaded for a total of 12 subjects to help Class 12 students. These subjects comprise of Business Studies, Physical Education, Political Science, History, Sociology, English Core, Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Informatics Practices.
CBSE officials commented on the question banks stating that they are an important study tool that students can use to prepare for their board exams. The questions banks provide a brief idea about the paper pattern and the type of questions usually asked in the examination. The education board recently changed the paper pattern for standards 9 to 12. The new pattern shall give more importance to application-based questions and less emphasis on mugging-up of information. The new paper pattern is also in coherence with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The official notice issued by CBSE further states that the question banks shall also aid teachers and students in familiarising with the new paper pattern. Furthermore, they shall be equipped to understand and acquire the competency skills mentioned in the curriculum. Teachers can also use this question bank as a reference point to create individuals and collaborative questions banks of their own.
The CBSE 2021 questions banks evidently distance themselves from rudimentary and age-old learning methods. These questions are leaning more towards nurturing the skills that students possess along with making them think critically, creatively, and rationally. While this question bank shall help students prepare for their boards, the primary objective of CBSE is to provide a framework to teachers. This shall help them impart problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to students, the notice suggested.
