Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the class 10 Social Science term 1 examination today, on November 30, 2021. This was the first major subject exam conducted by the board through the OMR-based pen-and-paper format for class 10th students. Students had to appear for the exam at their allotted schools from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Immediately after the conduct of the exam, several teachers have uploaded their answer keys online. They have been uploaded either through a YouTube video or a PDF document on their website.
The next major subject exam for class 10 students is Science (code 086). It will be held on December 2, 2021, from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

As per students, the paper was easy, and NCERT based. There were no out of syllabus questions, or tricky questions. The paper was also doable in the given time. Also, there were almost equal number of questions from the chapters in term 1 syllabus of social science. Overall, students are satisfied with today’s paper.
In accordance with CBSE’s new board exam format, the Class 10 Social Science exam covered only multiple-choice questions. They were based on the 50% syllabus as mentioned below –
Unit 1. India and the Contemporary World -1: Events and Processes (The French Revolution)
Unit 2. Contemporary India – I: India, Physical Features of India
Unit 3. Democratic Politics – I: What is Democracy? Why Democracy?, Constitutional Design
Unit 4. Economics: The Story of Village Palampur, People as Resource
The CBSE Class 10 Social Science Paper was held for the duration of 90 minutes. The paper is divided into 4 sections – each section covering a a number of questions with internal choices. For every right answer, candidates will be awarded 1 mark. No marks will be deducted for incorrect or unanswered questions. Finally, candidates will be scored out of a total of 50 marks in the exam, after considering the number of correct answers in each section.
After Social Studies, Class 10 students will now have to brace for the remaining major subjects such as Science, Home Science, Mathematics (Standard or Basic), Computer Application, Hindi Course (A or B), and English (Language & Literature). In the case of minor subjects, the upcoming subjects include Hindustani Music (Vocal), Hindustani Music (Mel Ins), Hindustani Music (Per Ins), Elements of Book Keeping & Accountancy, Elements of Business, Arabic, and Tibetan.
