Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to decided the exam dates for the board exams. In the live webinar held today from 10 am to 11 am, the education minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak did not indicate any delay in the board exam schedule. However, he said that the board will be assessing the situation as the days pass. Depending on the situation, dates will be decided and will be announced soon enough so that the student gets time to prepare for the boards.
On the other hand, for the CBSE board exam 2021 practical exams, the Minister said the practical exams are totally under the watch of the schools. The decision in this regard will be taken by the schools. However, if the schools cannot reopen and classes do not resume for practicals, then CBSE will surely come up with some alternatives. The decision to reopen the schools has been also left to the respective state government. Till date, 17 states have reopened their schools.
Therefore the decision of the exam dates and the practical exam dates of CBSE boards 2021 is situation based. The Minister had assured in today’s live session, that the candidates will get the exam dates soon and there will be time for them to get ready for the final examinations.
For the syllabus of CBSE boards exams, the minister reconfirmed that the syllabus has been reduced by 30%. The new syllabus with the eliminated topics is available on the website of the board, cbse.nic.in. This is the new syllabus that all CBSE schools have to follow for the board exams 2021.
Similarly, the exam dates of JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 was also discussed. A similar proposition was given by the education minister. He said the exam dates of these exams will be announced soon too and the decision for a final date is under process.
In this Live session, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak also dismissed any possibilities of cancellation of any exam. The exams will be held for sure. There can be a delay but there will be no cancellations. In 2020 all exams were held successfully amidst the pandemic, in appropriate time. Even the Supreme Court had ordered to conduct exams like NEET without further delay in September 2020. Therefore this year too, all exams will be held under proper COVID-19 SOPs and safety measures.
All efforts are being made to announce the exam dates at the earliest. The suggestions and queries of the students have been noted and the minister assured that all suggestions like increasing the number of attempts in JEE Main, mode of NEET exam, dates of the exam, and more have been noted and will be up for discussion.
Earlier, Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), Dr. Vineet Joshi has said that the JEE Main 2021 forms will be released soon and the exam will be held in Feb or so.
Additionally, various reports have reported that a top board official, Sanyam Bhardwaj, has confirmed that the 2021 board exams will be held in February-March as usual, as CBSE had no plans to delay it. However, an official announcement is still awaited.
