So, finally, the wait is over for the lakh of students. Ever since after the exam was over, the students have been anxiously waiting for their result. The CBSE has announced the Class 12th Result today. The students can check their result online at cbseresults.nic.in. The Board conducted the exams from March 05- April 13, 2018.
To check the result, the students first need to visit the official website of CBSE. Then click on the link for Class 12th Result 2018. On the login page, the students need to enter Admit Card details as Roll Number, School Number, and Center Number. Click on Submit button. Finally, download your Result and take a print out of it for future reference.
The Board has provided other modes for checking the result. The students can use the facility for IVR system that gives you your results via a call. The charges for the same are 30p per minute per roll number. Another mode to check the result is by SMS, for which the students are charged at 50 paise per SMS. The students can also check their result at DigiLocker. The account details for DigiLocker will be sent via SMS to the student’s registered mobile number. Here are five important highlights of the exam which you can not miss.
Toppers
This year, Meghna Srivastava topped the Class 12th Board exam with 499 marks.
Last year, Raksha Gopal from Amity International School, Noida scored the highest marks in the country. She studied Arts Stream and scored 99.6 percent, two points higher than the 2016 Class 12th topper. Bhumi Sawant from Chandigarh bagged the second position who scored 99.4 percent. The third position was a tie between Aditya Jain and Mannat Luthra. Both were in the same school, Bhavan Vidyalaya in Chandigarh and had scored 99.2 percent.
Pass Percentage
The total pass percentage this year has been 83.01. There has been a 0.1 percent increase in comparison to previous year. Last year the pass percentage was 82.02 percent, which was 1.5 percent dip that year. However, in the year 2016, the pass percentage was held at 83.05 percent.
Last year, the girls secured a pass percentage of 87.50 while boys had secured a pass percentage of 78.
Statistics
This year, overall 28.24 lakh students had registered to appear for the CBSE board exams for both Class 10th and 12th. Out of which 11.86 lakh students appeared for class 12th board exams. The number of boys who registered for the exam is 6,90,407, whereas, 4,95,899 female candidates registered for the class 12th exams. The board exam was held across 4,138 centers. The number of students who registered for CBSE Class 12th Board exam is greater than the previous year. Further, the number of male and female candidates has also increased in comparison to previous year.
Last year a total of 10,98,891 students appeared for the CBSE Class 12, out which, there were 4,60,026 girls and 6,38,865 boys. Delhi had the highest number of students, about 2,58,321 registered for the Class 12 exams. Overall, 19,85,397 student registered from both classes 10 and 12 in the year 2017.
High Scores
Last year, the number of students who scored at least 95 percent was large. As per the CBSE reports, about 10,091 students scored from 95 to 100 percent. Also, 63,247 students scored more than 90 percent.
Students in Compartment
Looking back at last year’s numbers, where about 1,03,855 of students were appearing for the compartment exams.
Now, that result for Class 12th is announced, the students must be eyeing on DU Admission. It is one of the first choice of the students and for all the right reasons it should be. The registration for DU has been started on May 15, 2018, for UG Admission. Remember, admissions in DU in some courses are by merit, while in others it is through entrance test.
